Introducing The Breastfeeding Cafe's Birthing Suite!  This latest section of the site is designed to help you think about birth in new ways, provide timely and relevant information, and empower you to have the kind of birth you want.  Right now you'll find two interviews, one with Penny Simkin, founder of the modern doula movement, and the other with Karen Brody, author of the powerful play Birth:  A Testimonies Play about Childbirth in America.

Also introducing The Book Nook, a place where you can directly purchase a select group of books about breastfeeding, pregnancy, and childbirth.  You won't find books that offer simplistic advice.  What you will find are critical, engaging, thought-provoking books designed to educate, validate, and empower you.

Barbara becomes part of a new website launched by Amy Spangler, IBCLC www.babygooroo.com, is an up-and-coming on-line community built around top experts in baby health and nutrition.  I'm often leery of the term "expert" but these folks are the real thing!  With breastfeeding powerhouses such as Thomas Hale, Pamela Hill, Miriam Labbok, Mary Rose Tully Marsha Walker, and others, the intent of the site is to provide an opportunity for parents and breastfeeding professionals to share information, ideas, and questions.

July 2006:  RealSavvyMom.Com begins a breastfeeding café!

We are delighted to share the news that as of July 2006, the website www.RealSavvyMom.com has created a virtual corner called The Breastfeeding Café.  Every month there will be new articles, information, stories, commentary, and opportunities for moms to share their experiences and insights. Click here to go directly to Real Savvy Mom's breastfeeding café.

Real Savvy Moms is an up and coming parenting site that is actively growing their breastfeeding pages.  While the site does accept advertisements from formula companies, it provides an excellent opportunity to reach people who might consider some other breastfeeding sites a bit too passionate for their taste.

In addition to their web site, Real Savvy Moms also has a public television show called, "Real Moms, Real Stories, Real Savvy," created to inform and educate women on parenting, health, and emotional wellness issues.  Check it out at:  www.realsavvy.tv
