Tired of folks telling you that if you nurse
your kids your nipples will eventually lie below
your navel? Heres a new study to set their
minds at ease that, strangely, comes from an
organization that hardly known to promote
breastfeeding - The American Society of Plastic
Surgeons. A 2007 study found that breastfeeding
does not create saggy breasts. But pregnancies
do. So does age (duh!) a history of smoking,
large breasts prior to pregnancy and body mass
index.
This is a great study to cite when talking to
women reluctant to breastfeed for fear of the
affect it may have on their breasts. But it
will do little to reverse the burgeoning number
of women who alter their breast every year to
make them larger, perkier, or more youthful.
